My name is Sue Kempe, and I am the Center Director of The Learning Tree of Algonquin.
I have more than 40 years of experience in early childhood education.
My career began at the Elgin location in 1984, and after obtaining my AA degree from Elgin Community College, I worked as a preschool teacher, school-age teacher, and assistant director.
My love for young children and the excitement they show when learning is why I chose my career path. It has been my pleasure to work with children and their families in guiding them with tools and skills that promote future success.
I am an area native and enjoy spending time with my husband and family, as well as a good book!
Hello! My name is Mary Beelow, and I am currently the Assistant Director at The Learning Tree of Algonquin. My first teaching job was at the Lab School at Waubonsee Community College, where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education. Since then, I have worked in the field as a teacher, assistant director, director and ran my own home daycare. Throughout the years, I have earned credentials in infant/toddler development, preschool, and school-age youth development. I have enjoyed guiding and educating children, as well as parents in their childcare journey. After 35 years in the early childhood field, I am happy to say, that I still wake up every morning excited to go and see the families in our care. The Learning Tree has been like my second family, and I am so proud to have been a part of it.
